You don’t need us to tell you it’s been a wicked winter. With snow and ice storms blanketing half the nation, how should you play airlines?
UBS airlines analyst Kevin Crissey tells the desk when you play the airlines, “fuel matters – and it hasn’t been very pretty of late.”If you're looking for a long position, Crissey says look at Delta and United . He likes these names because of their international and corporate business. “That makes it easier for them to pass along higher fuel costs.” Conversely, he says “it’s hard to feel excited about the low cost carriers. A Jet Blue, Allegiant or Southwest . "They struggle to pass along fuel."
