Citigroup - The financial giant may have "significant non-cash" third-quarter charges from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, according to the filing, but the potential charge will not affect the company's Basel III capital. Microsoft - The software giant posted earnings of 67 cents a share, excluding one-time items, beating expectations for 62 cents a share. But the Dow component posted sales of $18.06 billion, an increase from $17.37 billion a year ago but short of expectations for $18.13 billion.
