When Wall Street wants to gauge the amount of “fear” in the market, it turns to the CBOE Volatility Index , commonly referred to as VIX.
So after the Dow Jones industrial average topped the 13,000 mark and the Nasdaq spiked above 3,000, Jim Cramer on Tuesday wanted to take a technical view of the “fear gauge.” With the help of Mark Sebastian, a highly regarded technician on Wall Street, Cramer looked at the VIX’s charts.
