Q: What stocks are free (less likely) from the influence of "Quant" traders....i.e. market caps, ave volume, etc.?A: Patty Edwards suggests dividend paying utility stocks. “Look at something like a Con-Ed and/or Exeleon," she says. "Big dividend paying companies are not (currently) being flipped around."

Q: Is the good consumer sentiment number better for cons discretionary or cons staple stocks?

A: JJ Kinahan says it should benefit the consumer discretionary sector in the short term, however only the short-term.“I think consumer discretionary, after the holiday season might suffer. For the long-term I'd play consumer staples stocks – ones that aren’t sexy.”
